Commissioned January 2020. Rumor of War II, was completed before the death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter protest that spread across the globe. The painting depicts the base of the Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, located on Monument Avenue in Richmond, VA.
However, the bronze statue itself, is that of Kehinde Wiley's Rumor of War, set on the background of Van Gogh's Starry Night. Three paintings were commissioned, two were sold to avid collectors in Atlanta, Georgia.
